POPVOX DATA Beta
Appropriations Explorer
Search public requests for federal funding for community projects. Find the requesting Members, proposed recipients, amounts and published sources.
What is in this collection?
The Senate calls these requests Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS); the House calls them Community Project Funding (CPF). Eligible organizations apply to a Member’s office. Members select projects to submit to appropriations subcommittees, which choose which projects and amounts to include in their bills. Read how the process works, with official references.
FY2027 coverage: 13,380 Senate Member requests; 2,514 collected House Member requests; and 6,427 House bill-table records. House request collection is incomplete. Senate bill-inclusion tables have not yet been collected here. Both chambers consider projects for their bills; the difference here is our data coverage.
A Member request is not an award, and inclusion in a House bill table does not establish enactment. These records do not track enacted appropriations, awards or payments. Separate records may describe the same project. Source dates, coverage and downloads.
Search the public records
Search matches literal text in the published records. State may describe the project or the recipient’s address; each record explains its location basis. Amounts are gross source-record totals, not a count of unique projects. Compare chambers separately.
