Sources and identifiers

A POPVOX person ID belongs to a reviewed identity. Each original source record keeps its own ID, dates and reported wording, with links to the official documents. An LDA source name ID is distinct from a POPVOX person ID.

How identity connections are reviewed

Name, organization and time period inform review; a matching name alone is insufficient. Every accepted link carries its supporting evidence and review history, available through the “Evidence log” link on the record. The log links to readable official sources and the same review data in the public API.

This first release uses AI agent review, labeled on each link. Review notes retain the wording used when the decision was recorded. Published links have been reconciled with the live person registry.

What a connection means

A connection identifies records about the same person. It does not establish that lobbying occurred at a hearing. A committee witness listing does not by itself confirm attendance.

Reported lobbying expenses cover the organization’s quarter. They are not attributed to an individual or hearing, and this beta does not calculate amendment-adjusted totals.

Coverage and updates

The beta demonstrates a small set of reviewed connections. It is not a complete registry or a complete history of an individual. Source collection and identity review are separate steps; updates are published after review, not streamed automatically.

Corrections and review history

Corrections can retract an identity link while retaining its history. Person IDs remain available if identities are later merged or split. To suggest a correction, include the person or source-record ID and the relevant evidence.
