Dates describe each published snapshot, not a promise of complete or real-time coverage. “Built” is when POPVOX generated an Explorer file; “collected” is when a source was retrieved. Partner API responses report their own freshness separately.
The appropriations API requires no key. APIs for staff, Members, committees, Member history and hearings require approved dataset permissions and a bearer key.
Include the record URL or ID, the proposed correction and supporting evidence. Submissions are reviewed before changes are published.
Downloads contain the published snapshots described in the catalog. Some contain summaries or selected records rather than complete row-level exports.
Retain source links and dates, credit the original publisher and POPVOX, and distinguish source records from your analysis. Source documents retain their applicable rights and terms. This catalog does not establish a blanket license for source documents, data compilations or software. Authenticated API use is subject to the terms accepted when access is issued.
Institutions that supply records to POPVOX determine what may be published under their applicable laws and policies. Records supplied privately are not included in public releases without authorization.
